BAD REQUEST
New Year = New You!
It’s December 29th and you know what that means……
In T minus 2 days, the bubbly will flow, fireworks
will fire and resolutions will be made.
Time to ring in a new year….
New Years is a perfect time to reflect
on the year past, congratulate yourself for your accomplishments, and learn from your mistakes,
but most importantly, it’s a time to look ahead.
Humans are programmed to evolve – to improve
and obtain goals, so it is perfectly natural to
identify an area in your life that you
would like to alter, and commit to do it.
According to a Google search,
the top ten New Year’s resolutions are:
* Lose Weight
* Save Money
* Get a better job
* Get Fit
* Eat Right
* Get a better education
* Drink less alcohol
* Quit smoking
* Reduce stress overall
* Take a trip
Any of these sound familiar??
I’m a big believer in resolutions.
Though I normally set them on my “New Year”
(my birthday), I think they are a powerful
driving force in our development as humans.
This fall, on my 26th birthday, after years
of requests from friends and family, I resolved
to create a fitness regime that would deliver
whole body health with little time and lots of benefits.
After some serious thought, I decided, since I’m in
the ski industry and skiing is a HUGE motivator
for my fitness goals – I would design a course
that is catered towards skiing, but can be
applied to any area of life.
As a result, I have developed this:
http://www.ski-stronger.com, a fitness course
that trains the body, mind and soul to perform
at their peak and specifically – prepares you
for one hell of a day on the mountain….
In talking with Ben about the New Year,
we thought it would be a great idea to
introduce this course to you – our Icelantic family.
There is a ton of valuable information that
I would love to share with you here –
to make your time on the mountain even more enjoyable.
As many of you already know, I am passionate
about my health, and being the only lady
in a crew of 6+ gents, it is super important
for me to be at my maximum physical and mental
state both on the mountain and in the office.
I have had some unbelievable coaches
(spiritual and physical) and have learned a
thing or two in my decades on the snow.
I LOVE helping people and teaching what I know.
If you’re interested in some pretty serious
ski fitness tips, and a course that could change
your skiing forever, give me ten minutes of your time here:

New Eyes = New Ideas
Taking work off to ski is an important
element in running a ski business.
Last Friday Ben, Sam and I spent the day
at Loveland celebrating among other things,
the day Sam was born.
As many of you may know, I am the lone “tele-er”
in the company. Sam and Ben have been wanting
to learn the fine art of tele skiing for
a while now, so we decided to mount up a couple
pairs of 151 Pilgrims
(AWESOME ski to learn to tele on!),
demo some nice new tele boots
and head for the hills.
So there we were, two super athletic,
medium sized, strong guys on 151cm Pilgrims
and me on the 161cm Shamans (my favorite ski)
– yes people commented, I chuckled.
Within a couple of runs and some fool proof
telemark tips from yours truly, they were charging
- linking turns and feeling the burn.
I got to thinking about how good it is
for people to try new things on a regular basis
- to test ourselves and to push our limits.
It keeps us sharp.
We are goal striving mechanisms –
we like to aim for things.
On this occasion, trying new things led to
another incredible realization for me:
the importance of us taking these days to ski.
Every lift ride up we would talk about the run,
how the skis feel, how different tele skiing is
from alpine skiing or snowboarding, etc….
Who know’s what would happen if we just watched
the snow report and listened to all of you
out there getting down in deep pow…….
but I know if wouldn’t be good.
Skiing is a common passion for us –
it’s why were in this business, and it’s this
awareness that keeps us creating new designs
and innovations to enhance your time on
the mountain – and push YOUR limits.
On that note, if you’ve been contemplating
tele-skiing or maybe you’re already tele and
you want to lock your heels – I say – go for it!
Our skis are awesome mounted both Alpine and Tele.
About 60% of current Icelantic users are
mounted Alpine and about 40% are mounted tele.
Why not do both.
Sam and Ben are great testimonials to this.
They saw the mountain in a whole new light –
and you know the seeds were planted for future
developments in our line.
Ben’s creative genius is on max when he’s
on the mountain – imagine his thoughts
halfway into his 500th lunge of the day. Oof.
Here’s to trying new things
and awakening our perception.
Happy Monday,
Annelise
P.S. I’m serious about the Pilgrim 151 being
an IDEAL STARTER TELE SKI.
It’s short, relatively skinny, quick turning
twin-tipped and poppy. Check it out here: http://www.icelanticboards.com/#/skis/detail/pilgrim

Together At Last….
Alas, the entire Icelantic crew has reunited!
From Laguna, El Salvador and Salt Lake City,
Artist Travis Parr, US Sales Manager Ashley Hart
and Team Manager Scotty Vermerris have all arrived
in the Mile High City for a few short days before
we kick off what is about to be our most epic
season yet – and just in time for First Friday!.
If you STILL haven’t visited the Icelantic Gallery
- especially on a First Friday, THIS IS THE ONE TO DO IT!
Here are our top reasons why we think you should spend your
Friday evening at 948 W. 8th Ave.:
1. Artist Travis Parr has delivered!
Armed with never before seen prints and a Sharpie,
Parr will be at the Gallery all evening signing
and selling his work. If you haven’t had the
opportunity to meet him yet, that alone is worth the
$1.69/gallon gas to get here…
2. This month’s exhibiting artist, Joshua Weiner,
is delivering the most spectacular show the Icelantic
Gallery has ever seen.
A Denver based sculptor, Joshua’s work is the real meat.
That’s all I gotta say.
Get a sneak preview here:
http://www.icelanticboards.com/#/gallery/artists.
3. Delicious refreshments, as always, provided by Tommyknockers Brewery. Yum.
4. Ben’s bright blue eyes, Sam’s pearly whites,
Parr’s creative hands, Scotty’s sleeve of tricks,
Ashley’s maximized enthusiasm, and I’ll give you a
BIG high five when I see you!!
In addition to all of the above reasons,
being at our Gallery, surrounded by like-minded
snow and art enthusiasts will get you
PUMPED to rip on Saturday.
With all the freshies Colorado has received
in the past week – it’s time to buck-up princess.
Winter is here!
We hope you and your family are able to
join us on Friday – we’d love to see you!!
Happy Thursday,
Annelise
P.S. OK, one more reason….. Holiday Shopping!!
For all those Sagittarius’s in your life.
Everyone deserves a Sherpa Lined Hoodie: http://www.icelanticboards.com/#/apparel/hoodies

We Are Full.
After a four day holiday weekend filled
with back to back demos and 61 inches
of delicious new snow from which we feasted,
the Icelantic crew is stuffed….
And ready to charge!
As of last Saturday, the Icelantic 08-09 demo tour
has officially begun.
With three demos under our belt
and over 130 satisfied demo-ers, it looks like
this is going to be one hell of an adventure.
Armed with his “MCU” (Mobile Command Unit –
you’ll see what we mean)
US Sales Manager, Ashley Hart along with
Team Manager Scotty Vermerris and Thor the dog,
are hitting the road for the next
four months bringing the
2008-2009 Icelantic line TO YOU FOR FREE!
This week we will be hosting
FREE demos at Breckenridge, Keystone,
A-Basin and Copper.
Next week is Steamboat, Aspen and Snowmass.
And this is just the beginning!
To see when Icelantic is going to be at
your local mountain, click here: http://www.icelanticboards.com/#/demos.
Bring your friends, try the Shaman 184
or the Da’Nollie – our new park specific ski.
And if you’ve already tried a pair or two
and have been waiting to treat yourself,
I would recommend taking action soon.
Our shops are selling skis like crazy –
and if our hunch is correct, skis will be
flying off the shelves faster than Ashley
can chug his Emergen-C after our demo truck
rolls through.
So keep your eyes peeled and check our website http://www.icelanticboards.com for the
next demo closest to you.
I hope you all had a delicious Thanksgiving
weekend – we look forward to seeing you on the mountain!
To Trying New Things,
Annelise
P.S. The holiday’s are here!
Do something for yourself and a loved one –
with every item you purchase off of http://www.icelanticboards.com your name will be
entered into a drawing to win a free pair of skis!
Sherpa lined hoodies, hand knit wool hats,
fine art prints…… something for everyone!
